Ingredients
  1. drop of vanilla essence
  2. 175g plain flour
  3. 50g icing sugar
  4. 175g butter
  5. as needed cherries or almonds
Method
  1. Lightly cream the butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in vanilla essence and then gradually beat in flour.
  3. Using a No.6 meringue pipe, make 1 inch whirls on a well buttered baking sheet.
  4. Top each biscuit with a cherry or a split almond.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven, gas mark 4, for 20 minutes until pale golden color. Allow to cool on a wire tray.
  6. Store in an airtight tin.
